Evander Kane, who has found himself in a lot of trouble over the duration of his career, may be turning over a new leaf.

The 30-year-old has been playing in the American Hockey League with the San Jose Barracuda. So far, he has been flourishing, with 6 points (1 goal, 5 assists) in 4 games, but his play isn't the only bright spot with the team. Kane's attitude has reportedly taken a full 180.

Apparently, the outcast Shark who was a problem in the locker room last season, has been a breath of fresh air for the youngsters on the Barracuda.

Defenseman Ryan Merkley is one of the many fans of having Evander Kane on the team.

«It's been awesome," Merkely explained. "He has brought the morale up for sure. The guys are having a lot more fun. I wasn't expecting it, but is been a nice surprise.»

If this is indeed the case, it seems that a return to the NHL may soon be on the horizon for Kane. Although it may not be with the Sharks, if Kane keeps this up a change of scenery will happen sooner rather than later.
