After years of living through turmoil, and filing a lawsuit against the Chicago Blackhawks in 2020, Kyle Beach's fight against the team has ended. The Blackhawks have announced that they have reached a settlement in the case.

"The parties are pleased to announce that today's mediation resulted in a confidential settlement between the Blackhawks and Kyle Beach," said a statement from the Wirtz family, the owners of the team, and Beach's lawyer.

'The Blackhawks hope this resolution will bring some measure of closure and peace for Mr. Beach."

An independent investigation found Beach reported being sexually assaulted by video coach Brad Aldrich back in 2010. Rather than deal with the issue, the Blackhawks chose to sweep it under the rug and hope it would go away. Beach would eventually leave the team and the league, missing out on his dream of ever playing in the NHL.

There is still the issue of the lawsuit filed by an anonymous high school hockey player who was assaulted by Aldrich after he left the Blackhawks in 2011. Mediation was set to take place with that one as well. No word on if a settlement has been reached. Aldrich is a registered sex offender in the state of Michigan as a result of the accusations brought forward by that player.
