After undergoing his preferred aritificial disc replacement surgery last month, Vegas Golden Knights forward Jack Eichel has been hard at work, slowly finding his way back into game shape, with rehab going very well.

Eichel resumed skating on December 2nd and, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman during the most recent addition of the 32 Thoughts Podcast, the 25-year-old appears poised to head to Vegas "early in 2022".

Having won 5 of their last 6 games, the Vegas Golden Knights have really begun to turn it on after a disappointing start to the 2021-22 season, chock full of injury issues. With Eichel on the way and both Max Pacioretty and captain Mark Stone back in action, Vegas should return to form as one of the league's top teams in 2022.

The American-born center was acquired by the Golden Knights on November 4th in a deal involving Vegas forward Alex Tuch, prospect Peyton Krebs, a future 1st round pick and a future 2nd round pick.

If Eichel can remain on the trajectory that he's currently on and continue to progress in rehab, he will be the first NHL player in history to come back from an artificial disc replacement.
