The Carolina Hurricanes announced on Monday that defencemen Brett Pesce and Tony DeAngelo have entered the NHL's COVID-19 protocol and won't travel with the team to Dallas.

"Brett Pesce and Tony DeAngelo have entered the COVID protocols. They will remain in Raleigh to quarantine and continue to be monitored by the #Canes medical staff as the team travels to Dallas today," the Hurricanes said in a tweet.

Pesce, 27, has appeared in fifteen games this season where he's tallied seven points (one goal. six assists), eight penalty minutes, and is a plus-one.

DeAngelo, a native of Sewell, New Jersey, is having an incredible start to his 2021-22 season. In twenty games, he's recorded nineteen points (four goals, fifteen assists), twenty-three penalty minutes, and is a plus-ten.

The Hurricanes are back in action on Tuesday night against the Dallas Stars.
