A very valuable lesson was learned on Sunday by hockey reporter and author Damien Cox. If you're going to take a screen shot of your computer to put out on social media, always ensure any potentially embarrassing tabs are closed before you do so. Cox, who is a regular contributor to the Toronto Star, has written a new book on the NHL's North Division from last year's shortened season. It was the first, and quite possibly the last time all of the league's Canadian teams played in one division, making it a historic season. Cox's book is now available in stores, and he used a screen shot of his computer in a Tweet to promote it.

His initial Tweet has now been deleted and replaced with a version that doesn't include that tab. Kids, always double check your tabs and what you have open before taking that screen shot and sharing it with thousands of people. By the way, this isn't the first time Cox has had an embarrassing issue with technology. In 2014, he Tweeted a message on his account that was clearly meant to be a direct message and not something open to the whole public. It appeared he was asking a woman for a selfie. That Tweet was also deleted, but it's the internet and nothing is ever truly gone once it's put out in the social media universe.
