The New York Islanders announced on Wednesday that defenceman Ryan Pulock will miss four-to-six weeks with a lower-body injury.

Pulock, 27, has appeared in twelve of the Islanders' thirteen games this season, and missed out on Tuesday's clash with the Florida Panthers. In twelve games this season, the Dauphin, Manitoba native has two assists, zero penalty minutes, and is a minus-two.

On the morning of the Islanders' first game of the 2021-22 season, Pulock signed a massive eight-year contract worth $49.2 million ($6.15 million AAV), which will kick in ahead of the 2022-23 campaign. Pulock was set to become an unrestricted free agent in July 2022.

The Islanders will play their first game at their new home, UBS Arena, on Saturday night after a thirteen-game road trip.
