During Friday night's tilt between the Washington Capitals and Columbus Blue Jackets, Alexander Ovechkin scored career goal 742, which puts him in sole possession of fourth on the all-time goals list, passing Hall of Famer Brett Hull.

Following Ovechkin's goal, Hull's son, Jude, took to Twitter to share his disappointment with 'The Great 8' passing his father on the all-time goals list.

Jude did something similar earlier this week and also went on a bit of a rant when Ovechkin tied his father Brett with 741 goals.

"I guess in Russia you aren't supposed to support your father and be disappointed when his all-time achievement is tied or surpassed??? Am I understanding this correctly??" Jude said.

In another Tweet on Thursday morning, he said, "Okay I've learned my lesson. Don't post a thumbs down emoji when referring to Russian athletes and their accomplishments. Can we please cool it with the replies now?! My god"

It's understandable that Jude was sad to see his father be passed on the NHL's all-time goals list, but at the same time, we're living in a very rare moment in hockey history, where a player has a legit shot at dethroning Wayne Gretzky's record in a few years or so.

The backlash Jude received, mainly from Capitals fans and Russian hockey fans is to be expected. Although he didn't say anything negative about Ovechkin, those fans are going to defend 'The Great 8' no matter what.
