The Toronto Maple Leafs have been relatively quiet when it comes to roster decisions, as they continue to truck along through the preseason.

While other teams have made their first wave of cuts, sending select players back to their junior clubs and placing multiple players on waivers for the purpose of assigning them to their respective AHL affiliates, the Leafs have placed just one lone player on waivers in defenseman Teemu Kivihalme, who still may play in one of the next two preseason games.

During the week, Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe had indicated that he does not anticipate any significant cuts being made for the Leafs ahead of their back-to-back on Monday and Tuesday when they take on the Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens, respectively.

On Sunday, Keefe doubled down on that promise when he indicated to the media that the Leafs are in no rush to trim the roster or make any decisions relating to their final lineup "until we absolutely have to, before we get going on the 13th."

So, by the sounds of things, anyone who may be anticipating decisions on Josh Ho-Sang and Nikita Gusev, who are on PTO's with the Leafs, you may be waiting a little longer to find out if one or both will make the cut and earn a contract with the Buds or the Marlies.

Other intriguing roster decisions that we'll likely have to wait for until the cut-off are what to do with Nick Robertson, Timothy Liljegren, Kirill Semyonov, Adam Brooks, Pierre Engvall and Kurtis Gabriel and whether not GM Kyle Dubas has any potential trades coming that might prevent the Leafs from losing anyone to waivers.
