Jonathan Drouin made his first appearance in a Canadiens uniform on Monday night since taking a leave of absence from the team in the spring due to anxiety and insomnia issues.

In his return, Drouin found instant chemistry with linemates Josh Anderson and newly-acquired centerman Christian Dvorak. Drouin finished the game with two assists and played 14:49. For his efforts, he was named the third star of the game.

After the game, Drouin talked to media what it was like to return and how he felt playing in front of the fans again.

"I'm really happy to be back, I'm happy, I feel like myself," Drouin said. "It's fun to be playing hockey."

Every time Drouin touched the puck during the Canadiens' intra-squad scrimmage on Sunday and in Monday's game against Toronto, the fans cheered loud, welcoming him back.

When asked about how he felt about the fans giving him that kind of welcome, he said: "It warmed my heart. There might have even been a little tear, I don't know if you saw it, but it was really cool to come back and get an ovation like that."

Drouin and the Canadiens will be back in action on Friday evening when they travel to Ottawa to take on the Senators.
