IIHF releases 2022 Olympic schedules

On Thursday, the International Ice Hockey Federation released both the men's and women's schedules for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China.

The men's tournament will get underway on February 9th and will end with the gold medal game on February 20th (China time, February 19th Eastern time). As for the women's schedule, it will begin on February 3rd (China time, February 2nd Eastern time) and will end on February 17th (China time, February 16th Eastern time).

Several of the games will start at 11:10pm Eastern time, which is 12:10pm China time. All dates and times listed below will be based off of when the game starts in Eastern time.

Let's start by taking a look at the men's schedule for Canada and the United States.

February 10th: Canada vs Germany (8:10am ET)
February 10th: USA vs China (8:10am ET)
February 11th: Canada vs USA (11:10pm ET)
February 13th: Canada vs China (8:10 am ET)
February 13th: USA vs Germany (8:10am ET)

Other notable games in the men's tournament include:

February 9th: Czech Republic vs Denmark (8:10am ET; Denmark's first-ever Olympic game.
February 13th: Finland vs Sweden (3:10am ET)

Now let's take a look at the women's schedule for Canada and the United States. The 2022 Winter Olympics will include ten teams for the first time in the women's tournament, so each nation will play four preliminary round games.

February 2nd: Canada vs Switzerland (11:10pm ET)
February 3rd: USA vs Finland (8:10am ET)
February 4th: Canada vs Finland (11:10pm ET)
February 5th: USA vs ROC (8:10am ET)
February 6th: USA vs Switzerland (8:10am ET)
February 6th: Canada vs ROC (11:10pm ET)
February 7th: Canada vs USA (11:10pm ET)

Participating teams in the men's tournament must submit their long-list of players by October 15th while provisional rosters will be announced in January.
