It's certainly not the way the Blues want to welcome their prospects to the city of St. Louis. The team has released a statement announcing a prospect was the victim of an armed robbery in St. Louis Monday night.

"The St. Louis Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that took place on the Arch grounds early Monday evening involving one of our organization's prospects. Our player is safe as local authorities work to apprehend the suspect."

According to KMOV TV, police say "the suspect ran up to a man and woman, pointed a gun at them and demanded their property just before 7:30 p.m. The victims gave the suspect their cell phones, purse, wallet and car keys. The suspect ran off following the robbery. The victims were not injured."

The Arch Grounds are part of the Gateway Arch National Park in St. Louis.

In July of 2021, St. Louis was named the fourth most dangerous place to live in the United States. That's according to the US News & World Report. Only Memphis, Tennessee, San Juan, Puerto Rico and Flint, Michigan were ranked higher.
