On Thursday, the Philadelphia Flyers announced that they've signed forward Joel Farabee to a six-year contract extension worth $30 million ($5 million AAV). The contract will kick in for the 2022-23 season as Farabee is entering the final year of his entry-level deal.

The Syracuse, New York native took huge strides in his development during the 2020-21 season, his second in the NHL. In 55 games, Farabee had 38 points (20 G, 18 A), 28 penalty minutes, and was a +/-0.

Farabee, 22, will likely start the season on the Flyers second line with Kevin Hayes and newly-acquired forward Cam Atkinson according to DailyFaceoff.

Philadelphia will open their training camp in the next couple weeks and will play their first pre-season game on September 28th against the New York Islanders.
