It appears as though, just hours after confirming multi-year deals for Anthony Beauvillier, Casey Cizikas, Kyle Palmieri and Ilya Sorokin, the New York Islanders have also signed UFA forward Zach Parise.

The terms of the deal have not yet been released to the media, but the news should shock or surprise anyone, given what we know about Lou Lamoriello and his penchant for bringing in players that he knows and trusts.

Parise was bought out by the Minnesota Wild earlier this offseason, along with long-time friend and teammate Ryan Suter - much to the surprise of both veteran players, who were not expecting the move.

Parise will have a pretty good opportunity ahead in Long Island, as the Isles have brought back pretty much the same band this season, with some minor tweaks and appear to be positioned well to grab hold of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference after going on a run to the conference finals earlier this summer.

The 37-year-old is no spring chicken, but he does have six 30-goal seasons to his credit. He finished last season with just 18 points in 45 games with the Wild and will undoubtedly be looking to start fresh and contribute wherever he can, up or down the Isles lineup.

Per The Athletic's Michael Russo, Parise has confirmed that he and the Isles actually struck an agreement earlier this summer. Still no details available, but we will provide that update when we have it.
