It appears to be the end of the line for Niklas Hjalmarsson's hockey career. According to Craig Morgan of AZ Coyotes Insider, the Eksjo, Sweden native will be retiring from hockey.

"Per source, Coyotes UFA D Niklas Hjalmarsson is retiring. I don't expect a formal announcement or statement from Nik. Those who have covered him or known him know that is not his style. He was an integral part of three Stanley Cups in Chicago and the consummate pro on/off the ice." Morgan said in a tweet on Sunday afternoon.

Hjalmarsson, 34, played parts of 14 seasons in the NHL, ten with Chicago and four with Arizona. He won three Stanley Cups with the Blackhawks in 2010, 2013, and 2015, as well as a silver medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Veteran goalie Craig Anderson is also expected to retire according to Tom Gulitti of NHL.com. Capitals general manager Brian MacLellan said during his media availability on Saturday that he expects Anderson to retire.

Anderson, 40, had a lengthy 18-year career playing for Chicago, Florida, Colorado, Ottawa, and Washington. In 652 regular season games, Anderson had a record of 291-252-69 with a 2.84 G.A.A., a .913 save percentage, and 42 shutouts.

Congratulations to Niklas Hjalmarsson and Craig Anderson on their great careers and all the best in retirement.
