appears ready to be moved by Vancouver, but with his recent struggles on the ice, the team are having a hard time finding genuine offers as they look to potentially move him and revamp their team ahead of the 2025 trade deadline.

This season has been a wild ride for the Vancouver Canucks, but after trading J.T. Miller, many believed that the roster would settle in and rekindle their form from the 2023/24 campaign.

Unfortunately for the team however, Elias Pettersson's play has not improved, and while the team have stated he's off the trade market, his continued struggles have made many around the league believe they want to trade him.

Now, according to NHL Insider Frank Seravalli, his struggles on the ice have become a major roadblock to a potential trade, with other teams believing that his contract may not be worth taking on given his play.

Just two years ago, Pettersson put up an impressive 102 points and followed it up with 89 a season ago, and at 26-years of age, he should be drawing immense interest on the market.

However, the Swedish star has compiled just five assists and one goal over his past 16 games, and after struggling at the Four Nations Face Off, his trade value has plummeted around the league, with teams not willing to take on the $11.6 million cap hit he carries.

Ultimately though, there's likely to be a team out there that believes in his talent, and if he can get past whatever is currently holding him back, whether that be the injury or the off-ice drama that's followed him all season long, there's still a very bright future for him in the NHL.
