Sidney Crosby may not be available for trade, but after the love he was given in Montreal at the Four Nations, his mind may ultimately be changed as the Canadiens could make a genuine push to land the Canadian icon.

Given the Pittsburgh Penguins struggles this season, there has been plenty of speculation surrounding Sidney Crosby, with the captain linked to many teams ahead of the trade deadline despite Kyle Dubas insisting that he isn't available.

Now, that has continued after intriguing comments from former teammate Derick Brassard about Crosby's love for the Montreal Canadiens and how the love he received at the Four Nations Face Off could convince him to push for a move there.

"Sometimes, that's how you recruit players. With this tournament, Crosby gets to visit the facilities and experience the atmosphere in Montreal. He grew up as a Canadiens fan, so why not!"

That love was on full display after Team Canada's shocking OT win over Team Sweden to start the tournament, where the Bell Centre reigned down Crosby chants after he put on a stunning three point performance, which clearly delighted the Penguins captain.

It's no secret that growing up in Halifax, Nova Scotia, No. 87 was a huge Canadiens fan, and with the team having plenty of young, moveable assets, there's certainly the framework of a potential deal there.

Ultimately though, Sid's entire career has been spent in Pittsburgh, and there's a chance that he simply doesn't want to uproot himself and his family after signing an extension this past summer, but if he does want a move, the love he received in Montreal may just be one of the motivating factors to make him push for one.
