Former legend of the Canucks, Pavel Bure, recently spoke out and completely blasted Vancouver for how they handled the J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson situation.

The rift between star players of the Vancouver Canucks J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson may have healed, as Miller got traded nearly three weeks ago on Jan. 31, but its aftertaste remains, especially among old-timers of the franchise.

Hockey Hall of Famer Pavel Bure, franchise leader of goals scored by him within a season, wasn't happy with how his old franchise proceeded.

"If you've got a talented player who doesn't fit into the team, that's a failure of management," Bure told RG in a recent interview. "If it gets to the point where you have to trade him, something has already gone wrong."

His gripe is part of lingering questions weeks ago: Why, if management had known there indeed had been an issue, had it taken its sweet sweet time doing anything, nearly losing out on making the postseason?

And if management had no idea, how had nobody seen anything? Even former coach Bruce Boudreau acknowledged there had been tension there, so claims of obliviousness ring hollow, least of all to Bure.

Miller was warned four years ago about potential problems

It's far from the first criticism of former players holding former players accountable. Veteran forward Brad Richardson had warned Miller of a possible situation four years ago, in the 2021-22 season.

The situation seemed ignored by Miller, or by management, or maybe by neither, but that's water under the bridge now. Now, franchise greats are second-guessing the management of the Canucks.
