According to Elliotte Friedman, the former 40-goal scorer and Stanley Cup champion Vladimir Tarasenko will be traded soon by the Detroit Red Wings.

With less than a month before the NHL trade deadline, teams don't have a lot of time left to bolster their lineup ahead of the playoffs.

By now, organizations have seen which players they could part ways with, and it appears the Detroit Red Wings, amid their sudden rise to the second wild-card sport in the Eastern Conference, could trade one of their top-six forwards: Vladimir Tarasenko.

The renowned insider Elliotte Friedman talked about the noise surrounding him in an intervention during an intermission report last night:

"This one is a little bit of a surprise," said Friedman on Hockey Night in Canada. "I've heard there's been some noise around him.

Vladimir Tarasenko is on the first year of two in Detroit and he's got a a no-trade clause, and there's some noise around him.

The Red Wings are much better, players are playing better, but he struggles to fit in the line-up.

I know there's been some conversation around him and we will see how it all develops"

This season, Tarasenko, 33, has 22 points, including seven goals, in 53 games with the Red Wings.

He has another season left on his $4.75M AAV deal signed last summer, and whil his no-trade clause could complicate the process, the Red Wings' general manager Steve Yzerman could be looking to offload him and his contract to add depth at the blueline or in the forward group.

However, having won two Stanley Cups, one with the St. Louis Blues in 2019 and the other with the Florida Panthers last season, Tarasenko could still be an interesting asset to the Red Wings if they make it to the playoffs.
