Famous Kansas City Chiefs sports anchor Adan Manzano was found dead in New Orleans a few days before the Super Bowl, and there's been an arrest.

A New Orleans area woman is behind bars in connection with the death of Kansas City sports anchor Adan Manzano.

Kenner Police said Slidell woman Danette Colbert was arrested and booked on fraud and theft counts in connection to Manzano's death.

Manzano was expected to cover the Super Bowl before his passing

Sports anchor for KGKC Telemundo Kansas City and Tico Sports, Manzano was found unresponsive, lifeless inside the room of a Kenner hotel, where he had arrived to cover the Super Bowl 59. He was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Hotel surveillance video recorded Colbert and Manzano together in the early morning hours of Feb. 5 before he was alone leaving his room.

Police reported her prior convictions include charges related to drugging men, stealing from them, and committing financial fraud. She has reportedly been identified using Manzano's credit card at various shops.

During a search of Colbert's residence, police found Manzano's missing cellphone and credit card. Police also noted his hotel key was missing from the scene. Her charges may be upgraded pending toxicology and autopsy results.

The police are requesting anyone with information on Ms. Colbert's activities prior to this matter contact the Kenner Police at 504-712-2222.

Telemundo Kansas City General Manager Steve Downing described Manzano as a passionate sports journalist. His wife died in a car accident last year, and their 2-year-old daughter is now with family.

We extend our deepest condolences to all of Adan's family and friends during this very difficult time.
