The Real Reason Star Logan Thompson Was Left off Team Canada Leaks Publicly
A report has revealed the reason why Canadian Logan Thompson, one of the best goalies in the NHL right now, was left off of Team Canada for the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off.
With the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off right around the corner, there is word on why Logan Thompson, who is having a fantastic season with the Washington Capitals, was left off of Team Canada's roster for the event.
Sammi Silber of The Hockey News writes that the reason behind the snub was revealed on the Real Kyper and Bourne podcast by ex-NHL netminder and analyst Steve Valiquette.
According to Valiquette, Thompson's red hot season for the Washington Capitals was overlooked by Team Canada because of former Vegas Golden Knights coaches Bruce Cassidy and Peter DeBoer, who are both assistant coaches.
Valiquette also indicated it wasn't just the coaches in Vegas who had an issue with Thompson, claiming there were conflicts with teammates as well.
Thompson has 24 wins in 30 games with the Capitals this season, including two shutouts. He also boasts a save percentage of .923, and a goals against average of 2.18.
All of these stats are better than any of the three goaltenders (Adin Hill, Jordan Binnington, Sam Montembeault) chosen by Team Canada for the 4 Nations Face-Off, which is the main reason why people are asking what happened.
Fueled by his haters, Thompson has found a home with the Washington Capitals that never materialized during his time with the Vegas Golden Knights. If Valiquette's report is accurate, we now know why.
