The hockey world is still mourning the tragic and untimely passing of Matthew and Johnny Gaudreau. Two amazing men taken too soon.

They lost their lives at the hands of intoxicated driver Sean Higgins Thursday night, in town for their sisters wedding that was planned the next day. There has been an outpoor of emotion in the six days since, and both Matthew and Johnny's wives have been vocal about commemorating their incredible lives.

Today, Johnny's wife Meredith, who became a fixture in Calgary during Johnny's time with the Calgary Flames, released a new statement with pictures, commemorating the two's three-year wedding anniversary today.

I never post this much but John deserves it. 3 years ago today I became yours forever. One of the best days of my life, including the night we got engaged and the days we brought our babies into the world. The day I met you I remember saying to myself, omg I'm going to marry him. And every day after that kept getting better and better. I love you forever John and I am so proud to be your wife.

Meredith Gaudreau is an incredibly strong woman for going through this horrible tragedy with such grace. We send her our most heartfelt condolences, and hope that Johnny's memory will live on in a beautiful fashion through their two kids.

Rest in peace, Matthew and Johnny Gaudreau.
