Vladimir Bure, the father of Valeri Bure and Pavel Bure, has passed away at 73 years old following undergoing cardiac arrest while swimming in the ocean.

Vladimir Bure is a four time Olympic medalist, with one silver and three bronze medals under his belt in swimming.
Bure is equally a two time Stanley Cup champion, working as a strength and conditioning coach on the 2000 and 2003 New Jersey Devils Stanley Cup teams. He is of course most famous, however, for being the father of Valeri and Pavel Bure.
Pavel Bure, of course, is a Hockey Hall of Famer, and listed as one of the 100 greatest NHL players of all time by NHL.com. The two time Maurice (Rocket) Richard Trophy winner and Calder Trophy winner is one of the greatest Vancouver Canucks of all time, and equally played for the Florida Panthers and New York Rangers in his career.
Valeri Bure never lived up to the shoes of his brother, but was a great NHL player of his own with the Montreal Canadiens, Calgary Flames, Florida Panthers, St. Louis Blues, and Dallas Stars.
The hockey world and sports world lost a great man yesterday in Vladimir Bure. A two time Stanley Cup Champion, four time Olympics medalist, and the man who brought two incredible NHLers into the world.
Rest in peace, Vladimir Bure.
