Alex Ovechkin has made a big ask to his GM: he wants Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid on the Capitals roster, or he won't be happy.
Washington Capitals GM Brian MacLellan made quite a bit of moves since the start of free agency, signing several notable players such as Andrew Mangiapane and Pierre-Luc Dubois, however, that doesn't seem to be good enough for Ovi, as he wants his GM to do more.
Crosby and Ovechkin have been the face of the league for nearly two decades now, squaring off against each other in many ferocious battles. They are friends, however, and now it appears Ovi wants to do damage on the ice together with both Crosby and McDavid, as he is chasing Wayne Gretzky's goal record and wants to ensure he shatters it.
Ovechkin isn't happy that his team got swept in the first round of the playoffs last season by the Rangers, and is pulling out all strings possible to ensure that never happens again. MacLellan has a tough task ahead if he wants to satisfy Ovi's wishes.
