Amid rumors that he could be traded away from the team, Leon Draisaitly finally sent a message to Edmonton Oilers fans about their run in the last Stanley Cup playoffs.

The Edmonton Oilers had one of their best seasons this past year, making a serious run in the playoffs. Yet, despite all their best efforts, they could not pull through against the Florida Panthers in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, making it another unlucky year for Canadian hockey fans.
"Canadian teams in the Stanley Cup Finals, last 30 years:

1994: Canucks lose 4-3
2004: Flames lose 4-3
2006: Oilers lose 4-3
2007: Senators lose 4-1
2011: Canucks lose 4-3
2021: Canadiens lose 4-1
2024: Oilers lose 4-3"
Yet, not all of the discussion of last season has remained on the players' performance. Leon Draisiatl, one of Edmonton's most prominent forwards, played an impressive game in the playoffs despite suffering injuries. However, much of the conversation about the player since their Game 7 loss has circulated about their likelihood of being traded away.
Yet, Draisaitl has finally brought attention back to the playoff run in Edmonton. In a social media post, the Oilers forward expressed his optimism for the team's future before thanking fans for their support.
"A bitter end to a tremendous season. I am confident the growth our group experienced will propel us to the top. Thank you #OilCountry for your unwavering support all season long."

While this does not entirely negate the possibility of moving elsewhere in the league, it is another solid indication that Leon Draisaitl is still dedicated to working with the Edmonton Oilers. Yet, only time will tell whether or not he can produce enough in the upcoming season to get extended.
