One junior hockey player has sadly passed away over the weekend as the cottage he was staying at with three teammates in PEI was engulfed in flames.

Noah Latimer of the Colts, in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League, was sadly the player who lost his life in this cottage fire, with three of his teammates escaping with injuries, one of those critical.
"Three people who escaped the fire were injured, one with serious injuries. Once the fire was extinguished by the fire departments, human remains of one person were discovered inside.

The scene was held by the RCMP and the investigation is ongoing."

Latimer also spent some time playing for the Truro Bearcats of the Maritime Hockey League, and they confirmed on social media that the four people involved in the fire were all members of their team in the past.
We are absolutely heartbroken to hear about the tragic accident involving 4 of our alumni this past weekend resulting in the loss of one of our own.

Noah Latimer played parts of 2 seasons with the Bearcats in 2021/22 and 2022/23.

Rest easy 22, forever in our hearts. ❤️🖤

Noah was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, playing the majority of games during his young career there, as well as some in New Brunswick. We would like to express our sincerest condolences to all of Noah's family and friends during this very difficult time.
