Vancouver Canucks GM Patrik Allvin made the heartbreaking announcement today that forward JT Miller is going to step away from the team for personal reasons.

Vancouver Canucks forward JT Miller, who has been having a decent season to date, is taking a leave of absence from the team for personal reasons, general manager Patrik Allvin announced on Tuesday. It was also mentioned that the leave is going to be for an indefinite period of time for now.

"Right now, our sole focus is making sure that J.T. knows the entire organization is here to support him," Allvin said in a statement. "Out of respect to J.T., we will have no further comment at this time."

The 31-year-old forward has had a strong start to the season, putting up six goals and 16 points in 17 games.

On Sunday night, however, he spent most of the third period on the bench in the Canucks' 5-3 loss to the Nashville Predators.

Lately, though, Miller has come under scrutiny, specifically with the absence of right winger Brock Boeser.

On-ice watchers have noticed him shaking his hand or wrist during games, thus stirring speculation of an undisclosed injury.

At any rate, it is not known if this is related to his recent decision to take some personal time away from the team. Without specifics, no conclusions can be made.

Sending our best wishes to JT Miller and his family during what must be a tough time. Not an easy decision to walk away, either.
