After being selected 6th overall by the Utah Hockey Club as their first ever draft pick in franchise history, Tij Iginla seems to not want to play for them.

Tij has huge footsteps to follow in the NHL, as he is the son of Flames legend Jerome Iginla. The Utah Hockey Club were very excited to be able to call Tij one of their own, however, it does not appear those sentiments are mutual, as Tij was recently spotted at a store and claims to have wanted to be drafted by the Calgary Flames.

"Nahh saw this guy at work told him I wish you got drafted by the flames he said he wished that too"

Tij had a breakout year for Kelowna last season, putting up 47 goals and 37 assists in 64 games, all while maintaining an outstanding +/- of +17. If these stats are any indication of the type of player he will become in the NHL, it seems pretty safe to assume he has the potential to be just as legendary as his father Jerome. Utah was sure hoping for that too, but now that this viral post is making its way online, it appears that Tij isn't too happy that Utah chose him over Calgary.

It wasn't meant to be with Tij Iginla and the Calgary Flames.

Do we have another Eric Lindros situation on our hands, where he refused to play for the Quebec Nordiques back when they drafted him a few decades ago, or is this all just being overblown? Only time will tell over the next few weeks.
