The Chicago Blackhawks have signed Tyler Bertuzzi to a four-year $22 million contract. The Toronto Maple Leafs were unable to match this deal.

After having re-signed Max Domi yesterday, Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs were forced to part ways with Tyler Bertuzzi. The Chicago Blackhawks have now swooped in, signing him to a four year deal with an average annual value of $5.5 million.

Bertuzzi's 4-year deal with Chicago will come with a $5.5M AAV

This is an exciting deal for both the Chicago Blackhawks and Tyler Bertuzzi, as the latter gets some financial security, and the former gets a veteran with intensity to protect Connor Bedard.

Tyler Bertuzzi has previously played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, and Detroit Red Wings, and has made a name for himself as a dependable middle-six winger with snarl. Snarl is one of the things the Chicago Blackhawks were most focused on adding.

Tyler Bertuzzi, signed 4x$5.5M by CHI, hard-working offensive winger who creates scoring opportunities in the net-front both by shooting and passing the puck. The finishing touch has always been streaky, peaking at a 36-goal pace in the 2021-22 season.

Didn't expect this to be honest. Tyler Bertuzzi will sign with the Chicago Blackhawks on the FA market. The deal should be around $~5M per season for 4 years. Bertuzzi is a TOP6 winger. I can imagine him to play next to Bedard.
