The NHL Draft is expected to see plenty of movement, and in the hours leading up to the event, Columbus have been aggressive in shopping their top pick.

After a lengthy Stanley Cup Playoffs, the off-season is officially upon us, with the first round of the 2024 NHL Draft set for Friday night in Las Vegas. There's expected to be some fireworks and shocks in the first-round, and now, we may see a big move already done before the night begins.

Daniel Briere is gunning for a top pick in the NHL Draft tonight.

Elliotte Friedman reported in his 32 Thoughts podcast this morning that Columbus wants both #Flyers first round picks and the Colorado first next year for the 4th overall pick.

The offer was «too much» for Briere, but the teams are expected to speak again today.

Friedman believes Philadelphia isn't the only team interested in #4 and guesses it's Carolina with Martin Necas involved.

In his latest report, Elliotte Friedman has noted a blockbuster looming for the Columbus Blue Jackets with the No. 4 overall pick, with both the Philadelphia Flyers and Carolina Hurricanes showing clear interest. After being approached by the Flyers, the Blue Jackets made their offer clear, and it wasn't a small one.

According to Friedman, the Blue Jackets wanted three first-round picks from the Flyers, including both this year and Colorado's first next year, but at this point, Philadelphia isn't taking them up on it. There's still hours to go before the event for them to discuss it, so don't be shocked if we see a different team on the clock at No. 4 overall.
