Connor McDavid's injury: major rumor confirmed in Edmonton

Following their Stanley Cup loss, the rumors that Edmonton Oilers' own Connor McDavid was dealing with an injury throughout the playoffs have been confirmed true.

Connor McDavid undoubtedly had one of the most impressive playoff performances the NHL has seen. Though the Edmonton Oilers could not pull out the win against the Florida Panthers in Game 7, he proved successful enough to earn this season's Conn Smythe Trophy.






However, McDavid not only fell off in the last couple of games against Florida, but he also went for fewer shots on goal throughout the postseason. Fans who noticed this began circulating rumors that the player was nursing an injury while on the ice.








Now, after the season ended for the Oilers without the Cup, these rumors have been proven truthful. McDavid suffered an abdominal injury that is likely to need surgery.




Connor McDavid was not the only injured player on the ice during the playoffs. Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch shared details of a few other players nursing injuries in their race to the Stanley Cup.
