Adam Henrique cost the Edmonton Oilers a first round pick, but it appears he will not be staying with the Alberta team after their Stanley Cup Finals elimination.

The longtime Anaheim Ducks veteran and New Jersey Devils forward was only one game away from winning the Stanley Cup, but fell ultimately to the Florida Panthers. Per David Pagnotta, he does not think he can win it all in Edmonton, and will be looking to sign elsewhere.

David Pagnotta: "Adam Henrique is expected to hit free agency and after his playoff performance, his value has certainly been given a solid boost. He's unlikely to re-sign with the Oilers and will attractive plenty of interest July 1."

Adam Henrique has made it clear he wants to go to a contender, but the Edmonton Oilers' incredibly tight salary cap situation will make things difficult.

Henrique says it (chance to win) is a big factor in free agency and understands that signing with a team who can win likely means taking a bit less (salary), but said having that chance is worth it.

It will be interesting to see what's next for the veteran forward.
