The Carolina Hurricanes made a big splash at the trade deadline acquiring Jake Guentzel from the Pittsburgh Penguins, but it appears his time in the east is up.

Per NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the star winger will likely be involved in a ‘sign and trade' deal, and the frontrunner is Connor Bedard's Chicago Blackhawks.
The Carolina Hurricanes have made Jake Guentzel's UFA signing rights available for trade in exchange for a mid-round pick. Per, Elliotte Friedman.

The Chicago Blackhawks have been trying to move things along and make a move, with several extra picks that show no risk if they make a move.

As Guentzel is a UFA, rather than an RFA like Matthew Tkachuk was in his historic sign and trade, the cost will likely only be a mid round pick.
#CauseChaos  have made Jake Guentzel's signing rights available via trade for a mid-round pick, per @FriedgeHNIC (32TP).

Also added he doesn't think it's impossible that #Blackhawks  are considering this. «Someone said to me Chicago's starting to make noises like they'd like to move things along a little bit here.»
Do you think Guentzel is the right fit for the Chicago Blackhawks as they enter the Connor Bedard era?
