Utah HC is beginning their first offseason and will be parting ways with three different prospects the Arizona Coyotes drafts: Jeremy Langlois, Filip Barklund, and Elliot Ekefjard.

Former Arizona Coyotes reporter Craig Morgan has dropped major news on Utah HC as he shared that Utah HC will not be signing three Arizona Coyotes prospects.

Utah (formerly the Coyotes) has no plans to sign any of its three players on this list by today's deadline: Jérémy Langlois, Filip Barklund and Elliot Ekefjärd.

The most surprising of these three players not receiving a contract is Jeremy Langlois as he scored over a point-per-game in the QMJHL last year with 62 points in 61 games. Originally a 3rd round pick in 2022, Langlois led the QMJHL is goals by a defenseman this past season and was on the QMJHL's second all-star team. At only 20 years old, Langlois will likely sign with another NHL team and look to make the jump to the professional game.

Filip Barklund has been rather disappointing since being drafted. He scored 3 points in 29 games in the Swedish 2nd-tier league. At 21 years old, Barklund will likely have a career in hockey but it most likely not be in the NHL.

Finally, Elliot Ekefjard, a 6'4" forward, has struggled to move up the ranks in Sweden. He scored 21 points in 27 in the Swedish 3rd-tier league and like Barklund will likely have a career in hockey but not in the NHL.

Utah will now look to invest in more players in the 2024 draft and find guys who can replace these three.
