If you've already seen this hit, you could likely tell the outcome would not be good. Oskar Sundqvist of the St. Louis Blues is out for the remainder of the 2020-21 season after a collision with teammate Kyle Clifford during a game against the San Jose Sharks Friday night. The Blues have announced Sundqvist has a torn ACL in his left knee as a result of the collision.

Sundqvist was pulling away from the crease when Clifford's knee hit him in the back of his left leg. The 26-year-old spun around before hitting the ice hard. He would need assistance to get off the ice and did not return. According to the team, Sundqvist will require surgery when the team returns to St. Louis. He will be re-evaluated at training camp for the start of the 2021-22 season.

Sundqvist is the latest in a long list of injuries St. Louis has had to deal with this season. Currently, Robert Thomas and Ivan Barbashev are also on injured reserve.

"It's a tough loss, for sure," said head coach Craig Berube. "We're going to miss him Everybody just has to pick up the slack, that's all you can do. It's unfortunate. It's tough news for Sunny and us, obviously."
