In a clash of hockey fandom, New Jersey Devils and New York Islanders traded chants all evening long at Prudential Center. They found a common enemy in the form of a resounding
Rangers suck
chant, uniting momentarily amidst their rivalry.

The Islanders won 4-1, securing their playoff spot in style.

However, the irony wasn't lost on either side. As they traded chants, the New York Rangers were busy on the other side of the Hudson River, clinching the Metropolitan Division and the Presidents' Trophy with a 4-0 shutout over the Ottawa Senators at a raucous Madison Square Garden.

For the Devils fans, it was a pitiful
end to a forgettable season. Their team's loss marked the end of a disappointing season. Just a year ago, they defied the odds by overcoming a 0-2 deficit to eliminate the Rangers in a thrilling seven-game series. Even Jack Hughes said that was the young team's Stanley Cup.

However, this year, they regressed, lost their coach, and missed the playoffs by a margin of eight points and went 0-4 against those Blueshirts.

What an embarrassing fan appreciation day,

The news left both Devils and jubilant Islanders fans are left to ponder what could've gone better, while the Rangers basked in their glory.
