The Coyotes time in Arizona appears to be quickly coming to an end, and now players are seriously weighing up their futures.

On Wednesday, a blockbuster report emerged that the NHL is putting together a schedule for 2024-25 that includes a Salt Lake City team, rather than Arizona, and it's let to increased speculation that relocation is on the way. Now, NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman has speculated that some players on the team are asking serious questions about their future regarding their rights, with speculation that they may force trades rather than be involved in the relocation.

EF on #Yotes players (TJMS): «It is going to be interesting to see what happens with the players, in the sense that I believe there is some players who have asked what their rights are in this situation. It will be interesting to see if any players say, I'd rather be traded or anything like that, I do think also that has kind of been discussed as well»

Given that some have signed long-term deals to stay in Arizona, it makes sense that they would be frustrated about potentially moving their entire life elsewhere, but until the team is officially relocated, it's hard to speculate on how easy it is to force their way out. Either way, talks of relocation in the NHL are heating up, and if players are asking about their rights, it's safe to say that this is real, and unless something drastically changes, it appears to be happening.
