WOW: Linus Ullmark Asked Point-Blank By Journalist Whether He Blocked A Trade
The trade deadline was notably stressful for Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark. Ullmark reportedly had to block a trade using his no-trade clause to stay in Boston. Over the weekend he was asked about this process and if the rumors were true.
Ullmark Rumored To Block Trade Out Of Boston
On trade deadline day reports had come out that Linus Ullmark blocked a trade that would send him to a new home. Ullmark had a 10-team no-trade list and used that to say no to a new home.
The deal fell through so goalie hugs are here to STAY in Boston
Reports were indicating that the Los Angeles Kings were the mystery team involved in the deal. This was later refuted by a source close to the Bruins who asked about the failed deal.
The source would not say who it was 'out of respect for all involved'
With no trade agreed to that meant that Linus Ullmark stayed in Boston. Since the deadline Ullmark played his first game back with the team. After the game he commented on deadline day from his perspective.
Ullmark Answers To Rumors About Him Blocking A Trade
After a successful win by Ullmark and the Bruins the goaltender stepped up to the podium and spoke about the trade deadline. While he did not confirm blocking a trade he did seem incredibly happy to still be in Boston.
After this Bruins win Ullmark and goalie partner Jeremy Swayman shared a special edition of their goalie hug. During the hug, Swayman made sure to tell Ullmark he was sticking around and not leaving Boston.
Despite whatever rumored trade almost happened Linus Ullmark is still a Boston Bruins. That means he and Jeremy Swayman will have to lock back in and lead the Bruins on a run the way many expect them to. As for what the future holds for Ullmark in Boston beyond this season no one knows.
