In breaking news, the Carolina Hurricanes have just extended one of the NHL's dirtiest players.

Hurricanes Extend Lemieux For Another Year at League Minimum

Brendan Lemieux has earned a reputation in the NHL as one of the dirtiest players in the league right now, with several instances where he has taken things too far. While he has struggled to find a secure home, it appears the Carolina Hurricanes are taking another chance on him, extending him for another year at the league minimum, according to David Pagnotta.

Hurricanes announce they've signed F Brendan Lemieux to a 1-year, $775,000 extension.

#CauseChaos GM Don Waddell: «Brendan has brought an element of toughness to our lineup. He understands his role with our club, and we're glad to keep him in Raleigh for another season.»

Lemieux is well known for his incident where he bit Matthew Tkachuk during a game, which he was suspended for.

We will see if Lemieux can earn his keep in Carolina as he continues to literally fight for his place in the NHL.
