Lightning place Luke Schenn on waivers

A familiar face, and Stanley Cup champion is headed to the waiver wire. According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Tampa Bay Lightning have placed defenceman Luke Schenn on waivers.

The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan has averaged just over 10 minutes of ice time per game this season. He's recorded 1 point (1 A), 12 penalty minutes, and is a -3.

Schenn, 31, was drafted in the first round, fifth overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He's spent parts of 13 seasons in the NHL playing for Toronto, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Arizona, Anaheim, Vancouver, and Tampa Bay.

In 773 regular season games, Schenn's tallied 149 points (31 G, 118 A), 580 penalty minutes, and is a -66. In 23 career playoff games, he has 5 points (2 G, 3 A), 13 penalty minutes, and is a -5.

Schenn won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020.
