Frolunda HC forward Lucas Raymond's season is likely over. The 18-year-old will have a procedure to remove bone fragments from his elbow after suffering an injury in Frolunda's 2-0 loss against Linkoping HC on February 18th. Raymond was hit early in the third period of that game, and did not return.

"Lucas re-injured an old injury from four years ago. It didn't really heal properly, so I think he's going to have a procedure done, a minor procedure that will keep him out for maybe up to eight weeks. But in the long run it's not that big a deal. I expect it to heal and be fine and not be an issue," said Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman after being asked about Raymond's status.

Raymond was drafted in the first round, sixth overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. In 34 games with Frolunda this season, Raymond has tallied 18 points (6 G, 12 A), 12 penalty minutes, and is a +1. Frolunda has nine regular season games left, the last being on March 13th against Brynas IF, before beginning the playoffs a few days later.

Internationally, Raymond has represented Sweden on several occasions, most recently at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships. In 5 games, he recorded 5 points (2 G, 3 A), 2 penalty minutes, and was a +2 as Sweden finished fifth following a loss to Finland in the quarterfinals.
