After yesterday's trade deadline, Pittsburgh Penguins fans and players don't seem too happy with GM Kyle Dubas, and now he has said he accepts that they might not like him right now.

Kyle Dubas Accepts That Penguins Players and Fans Might Not Be Happy With Him

The Penguins trade deadline yesterday was more than just trading away a big-name player like Jake Guentzel. It signified what is likely the end of an era in Pittsburgh, and that is the Sidney Crosby era. While he is not looking to retire after this season, it's highly unlikely the Penguins will be good for the remainder of his career.

That feeling could be sensed even by General Manager Kyle Dubas, who said yesterday that he expects people to be unhappy with him, since they are all competitors.

«Mike's been here a long time, he's like the players,» Dubas said, «and when you make the decision to remove someone from the group that's hugely popular and contributes in such a great way, nobody's happy about it.

«And I wouldn't want it any other way. I wouldn't want anybody to be happy about those things. That's part of this job, and it's part of their job to be upset when those things happen.»

Dubas Has Enormous Task In Front Of Him And Things Will Change in Pittsburgh

Dubas did make an effort to go all in this season with the Penguins, making the massive trade for Erik Karlsson this offseason. However, that clearly hasn't worked, and the roster needs a big overhaul. I think that most players in the Penguins locker room would agree, however, it doesn't change the difficulty of the situation given the immense circumstances.

With a huge task ahead of him, we will see how Kyle Dubas performs.
