The Montreal Canadiens held a team skills competition yesterday. Some of the results were quite shocking.
Xhekaj Records One Of The Hardest Shots Of All Time
Arber Xhekaj, who became a fan favorite last season after bursting onto the scene, unleashed one of the hardest shots we have ever seen under any circumstances. During the classic hardest shot competition he uncorked a 107.7 miles per hour blast according to the team's radar gun.
This would put his shot among the hardest ever recorded, making Martin Frk jealous oh his power. However, not everyone is buying the result.
Former NHL Defenseman Calls Out Montreal Canadiens
Jordan Schmaltz, who played in parts of three seasons for the St. Louis Blues, called out the competition, saying there was 'no way' the 23-year-old could shoot that hard. He claims that the Canadiens rigged the radar gun to give readings that are higher than they actually were, as a way to hype of their players.
There will never be a way for us to know for sure, unless the team makes a comment on it, which seems unlikely. Regardless, this was just a fun event for the fans. Who really cares if the team 'juiced' up the radar gun a little bit?
