After spending some time in the NHL's Player Assistance Program, the Colorado Avalanche have received some great news on their star forward Valeri Nichushkin.

Valeri Nichushkin cleared to return by the NHL

Early on Monday, the NHL announced via social media that the veteran forward has officially been cleared by the program and will resume practice with the team immediately.

Valeri Nichushkin (@Avalanche) cleared by NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program to resume practicing with team.

This is great news for a team that's been clicking on all cylinders as of late, and with the return of one of their key forwards, it adds another bit of firepower for a team looking to make a Stanley Cup run.

In 40 games this season, the 28-year old has 22 goals and 20 assists, putting him on pace to far surpass his career best of 52 points in a season, and if he finds the momentum he had before departing the team, they become even more dangerous going forward.
