Evander Kane is known to be very outspoken, but recently, he's taken a very strange shot at one of the NBA's greatest ever players.
Evander Kane makes surprising statement on Connor McDavid and LeBron James
Despite there being no natural rivalry between Kane and LeBron James, he recently took this shot at him;
I think Connor McDavid is better at his sport than LeBron ever was at his.
It's unclear what prompted this statement, but there's certainly plenty to unpack with what he said, and given the differences in both sports, it's very hard to break down what he has said.
Will Connor McDavid go down as an all-time great?
No matter your feelings on James, he will go down as one of the greatest players in NBA history, with many having him top-three around Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Michael Jordan, so is Connor McDavid going to end up in the same place on the NHL's all-time list?
Right now it's hard to tell given that No. 97 hasn't even hit 30-years of age yet, but with players like Bobby Orr, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Gordie Howe and Sidney Crosby among others in that group, it will be tough for McDavid to pass them.
Ultimately though, it's an interesting discussion to have whether you agree with Kane or not, but given the differences in their age and their sport, there's no way to truly make a definitive statement.
