The NHL is starting to heat up as it approaches playoff season. The players are getting more aggressive, as we are now starting to see more of the old-school hockey fights so many fans have missed. One of the most brutal occurred today in the game between Florida and Washington.

Most Hated In The NHL Gets Demolshed

Nick Cousins of the Florida Panthers recently won the title of the most hated player in the NHL, beating out 'The Rat' Marchand himself and claiming his name in a poll from The Atlantic. Yet, in today's game, this 30-year-old enforcer got demolished in a fight on the ice.
"#ALLCAPS MANTHA DROPS THE GLOVES AND DESTROYS COUSINS 🤡"
Anthony Mantha of the Washington Capitals took on Cousins halfway through the second period of the game, throwing some nasty right hooks. At 6'5" and 243 pounds, this right-winger does a number on Cousins, who manages to throw a few less-powerful punches himself.

Fans Applaud Cousins Getting What He Deserves

On top of the shame of being a dirty player taken down on the ice, the public opinion of what went down is surely going to haunt Cousins. Fans have taken to social media to applaud this takedown.
"Every fan in the league is gonna love that replay of Anthony Mantha absolutely TEEING OFF on Nick Cousins. Ripping his helmet off so he could punch him in the face properly was such a great choice #ALLCAPS"
The Panthers are currently 4th in the league overall, only a few points behind the leading team. Hopefully for Cousins this embarrassing showing will not hurt his team's chances in the playoff race.
