In the third period of the wildly entertaining Stadium Series game the New York Islanders scored an exciting goal. After scoring the goal attention quickly turned to New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren who was heaped over in discomfort.

Lindgren would be helped off the ice and not seen for the rest of the game. Reports would eventually come out confirming that Lindgren ended up in an ambulance due to his injury.

Just watched Ryan Lindgren get escorted on golf cart to an ambulance. He was able to walk on his own, face with many visible stitches, eyes completely swollen. #NYR

What remains unclear is if the Rangers defenseman ended up in the hospital. With the odd setup of the stadium for this game, the ambulance might have been used as a convenient place for Lindgren to get the medical things he needed.

As more information about the chaos that occurred becomes public knowledge we will pass it along to you.
