Last night was a whirlwind for the Philadelphia Flyers, as they traded former No. 5 overall pick Cutter Gauthier to the Ducks, and when the reasoning came out, Flyers fans were not happy.

According to reports, Gauthier refused to meet with the team at the World Juniors and did not want to play in Philadelphia, causing him to get flipped for Jamie Drysdale and a future second-round pick.
Then, some Flyers reporters revealed a rumour that former Flyers great Kevin Hayes was behind the move, encouraging Gauthier to force his way out, causing the veteran forward to respond.

Kevin Hayes shoots down rumours and reveals disgusting messages he received

At this point, it's tough to know where the reporters that made this rumour up got their 'source', but today, Hayes emphatically shut it down, and revealed the gross messages he has received from Flyers fans since.
"Yeah, I think it's complete bullshit, honestly. I think those two guys acted like compete pieces of shit, to be honest, making shit up. Now, I'm going to bed and waking up with death threats and people want my family dead.

And people that are happy that my brother's dead. I think it's completely insane that this guy can say something like that. I honestly heard it and started laughing. Who the fuck am I to have influence on if a kid plays for an NHL team or not? I don't have that influence."
Fans have known for years that Philadelphia fans are some of the worst in professional sports, and while this isn't all of them, it's certainly a bad look once more, and Hayes once again denies the reports which have seemingly been made up out of nowhere.
