Major Roadblock Emerges for the Vancouver Cancucks and Elias Pettersson

It's no secret that forward Elias Pettersson is one of, if not the teams biggest star, but unfortunately for Canucks fans, he has been unwilling to commit to the team long-term thus far.

The latest update from Elliotte Friedman on the 32 Thoughts podcast has revealed that nothing has changed, putting the situation in the most straight forward terms as possible.

This past summer, the update we saw was that the team wanted to re-sign him, but he wanted to win, and after the red-hot start that has them sitting in first place in the Pacific Division, the assumption would have been that things would have changed.

Unfortunately, Friedman doesn't have an answer yet for why Pettersson isn't ready for the conversation, but with the team's core all healthy and rolling, perhaps if they can make a deep run in the playoffs things will change very quickly.
