The Tampa Bay Lightning Head Coach was just penalized for physically attacking the referee during the game last night.

Jon Cooper Gets Physical On Bench During Lightning Game

Jon Cooper is well known for being animated with referees and isn't afraid to show how he truly feels about certain calls in the NHL. While most of his antics come in post-game interviews, Cooper was heated last night in the blowout loss to the Bruins.
During the sequence, Cooper got so animated that his arm physically bumped into the referee. Take a look below.
Lightning coach Jon Cooper was GIVING IT to the ref and was handed a bench minor for his troubles 🫣
Cooper clearly could have been ejected from the game for this, so he got lucky that there was only a minor penalty called on the play.

Lightning Take Brutal Loss From the Hands of Bruins Last Night

The frustrations could be boiling over for the Lightning as they sit in the middle of the standings, which is unlike their usual first-place position, and last night was no different. The Lightning were handed a brutal loss from the Bruins.
Clearly, the Lightning are in a new position this season, and with their head coach losing his marbles on the bench, it doesn't look like things are turning around anytime soon.
