Despite not being tournament favorites, many expected Team Canada to play a part in a medal game in the 2024 World Junior Classic, but unfortunately, a late goal would ultimately sink them, ending in their first medal-less tournament since 2019.

After the outing, a former Team Canada star in Connor Bedard was asked about the loss, and he shared his thoughts;

Connor Bedard was heartbroken about Canada's loss in World Juniors: "I know a lot of guys on the team, and being a Canadian, we take a lot of pride in that. I just feel bad for those guys and how hard they played. It sucks, for sure." #Blackhawks

A former superstar of the World juniors stage

Bedard was an absolute star of the World Junior Classic, scoring a total of 31 points in 14 games across two tournaments, but unfortunately, Team Canada just didn't have the star power to come out on top in this one.

Given the pride that Canada takes in their hockey, this will be a tough pill to swallow for so many, but with much more fun young talent coming through the ranks, there's no doubting that they will be able to bounce back in future tournaments.
